Born and raised in rural Eastern Uganda, Ambrose Ngobi has been an energetic mobilizer of young people across East Africa for a meaningful integration agenda of the region.

As early as his high school, he courageously started a student movement, Ubuntu Students Association that helped sensitize his folks about the benefits of integrating East African economies through student debates and retreats.

When he joined Makerere University for his undergraduate study, he was a champion mobilizer of students especially during the vicennial celebrations of the East African Community, themed EAC@20 in 2020.

Ambrose was also the president of The East African Community Student Association at Makerere University for his final year of undergraduate, and worked alongside dedicated student leaders of the university to sensitize and mobilize students for the integration of East Africa.

He carried this East African passion and zeal during his postgraduate study at the University of Cape Town, mobilizing East African students in South Africa through the East African Society and leading conversations on African renaissance at the Vice Chancellor’s Residence.

When he rejoined Makerere University for a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, he concerted efforts with fellow students, many of whom were veteran national politicians, regional diplomats and army leaders to start up East Africa Must Unite, a regional movement sensitizing and mobilizing East Africans for a more vibrant integration future of the region.

As part of the work of East Africa Must Unite, over 1,000 young people in East Africa have been reached and sensitized to be champions of East African Integration.

East Africa Must Unite has also been instrumental in crafting and advocating for alternative policies geared towards enhancing the integration of East Africa through its vigorous policy organ, the East African Youth Think Tank. As a result, the movement has position papers solving most of the challenges of our integration: A position paper on a BETTER financing mechanism of the East African Community,  a DEPENDABLE path towards making the East African Community a people centered platform than an isolated club of the region’s elite, and REFORMS in attaining visas, work and driving permits across the region.

Ambrose Ngobi represents the new passion and commitment of the young people of East Africa. He is a devoted regional diplomat, committed to peace, democracy and development in the region and the continent, and has served roles within the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the International Youth Think Tank (IYTT).

He is running to represent the 78% young Ugandans who have been sidelined at the regional level. He forms part of the East African nationalism that is dedicated towards tearing down the elitist model of the East African Community and rechanneling our integration to the majority grassroot young people of East Africa..

Once elected, he will seek to implement a reformist agenda that demands full commitment (One Hundred Percent- 100%- from every East African citizen, institution and partner state of the Community ) to the values and vision that form the fabric of the East African Community:
